Transdev Group Photo Index

Transdev is a French company that originated from Caisse des dépôts et consignations in 1990. It first appeared in the UK when it took over London United Busways in 1997. For a while Transdev remain dormant until 2002 when it acquired the London operations of Sovereign Buses from Blazefield. Again it remained quiet until late 2005 when it purchased Yellow Buses of Bournemouth followed quickly by the Purchase of the Blazefield Group early in 2006. A year after it got Blazefield it took over Blackburn Transport which disappeared into Lancashire United. The group remained stable for a few years apart from when it took over rival Veolia's operations in York. A new twist was in 2011 when it merged with rivals Veolia which led to RATP (See RATP for more details) lose their share and took London United and Yellow Buses in Lieu of a cash payment. Aside from owning companies, it currently has a 18% share in Nottingham City Transport and was briefly a shareholder in Nottingham Express Transit.
